photographic awards
Gold Medal 2021
The PSA Gold Medal is one of the most prestigious awards on offer in international photo salons. It was earned in the "Monochrome Shadows" category of the Queensland International Digital Circuit 2021 for "Stepping Out", a playground shot of a little girl stepping out of a rope swing while a little boy holds it steady for her. Even without seeing the children's faces, one can feel the emotion and hear the squeal of delight.

Gold & Bronze 2020
This minimalist image of a staircase "Light the Way" won two medals in the "Monochrome" category of the Queensland International Digital Circuit 2020. The circuit is Queensland's largest internationally accredited salon for amateur and professional photography and comprises four separate "salons" or judgings, with medals and ribbons awarded in each. It won the QIDC Gold and the GPU (Global Photographic Union) Bronze in two of the four salons.

Champion Digital Image of the Year,
Peninsula Camera Club 2020
The image "Tuscan Hills" was judged Champion A-Grade Digital Image as well as overall Digital Image of the Year at Peninsula Camera Club in 2020. Happy to say it was my second time taking out the champion award.
In other successes:
-
As the equal highest scoring image from my club it helped Peninsula rank in the Top 10 camera clubs in Australia and as the No. 1 camera club in Queensland at the APS Australian Cup 2020.
-
The image placed third overall in a Tri Nation challenge with camera clubs in Krugersdorp (South Africa) and Reigate (UK) in 2020.
-
It received two ribbons (Merit and Honorable Mention) in the Queensland International Digital Circuit 2020.

Champion Print Image of the Year,
Peninsula Camera Club 2018
The image "Moon Dancing" was judged Champion Altered Reality Print as well as overall Champion Print of the Year at Peninsula Camera Club in 2018.

This image "Fringed Waterlily" won a PSA Silver Medal in the "Monochrome" category of the Queensland International Digital Circuit 2018.
It also took First Place in the Flora section at Pine Rivers Show 2015.
It's a personal favourite that brings back memories of getting down and dirty with a macro lens to capture this incredibly tiny flower and its buds.

Silver Medal 2018
Finalist, Australia's Top Emerging Photographer 2017
In May 2017, my series on the "Faces of the Rodeo", observing the highs and lows of this iconic event, earned me a place in the Top 10 of the Documentary/Photojournalism section of Capture Magazine's Top Emerging Photographer awards.

Gold Medal 2017
The FIAP Gold Medal is one of the most prestigious awards on offer in international photo salons. It was bestowed in the "Action" category of Singapore's Lion City International 2017 for this shot of a woman zipping through a transparent section of a waterslide on a cruise ship. In the spirit of Henri Cartier-Bresson's "decisive moment" it captures the essence of a fleeting moment whilst raising an ambiguity about its meaning, as encapsulated in the title, "Test Tube".
This image also won a Gold Medal in the Open Color section of the Ecological Truth salon 2017 held in Serbia, Slovenia & Bulgaria.

A-grade Reserve Champion, Pine Rivers Show 2017
Pine Rivers Show offers one of the largest and highest quality photographic competitions on Queensland's regional show circuit. This image, "Bucking" took 1st place in the "Action" category as well as the Reserve Champion award in the A-grade (industry Professionals) section of the show.
It has also received Honorable Mentions in the 123rd Toronto International in Canada 2016 and the Great British Small Print Awards 2017.

Finalist, Open House Brisbane 2017
This image of an orchestral performance at Old Government House was a finalist in the Open House Brisbane photography competition 2017. It's a busy shot, but I loved the colours and patterns, which I think work quite well to make sense of the scene. Open House is a worldwide event that celebrates good design in both heritage and modern architecture. It's one of my favourite events of the year as it opens doors to many spaces that are not often accessible to the public.

Champion Digital Image of the Year,
Peninsula Camera Club 2016
The image "Lifesaver on Duty" was judged the best digital image of the year at Peninsula Camera Club, one of the strongest photography clubs in Australia.
It has also received Honorable Mentions at the 123rd Toronto International in Canada 2016 and the Great British Small Print Awards 2017.

Champion (non-A grade) Digital Image,
Photographic Society of Qld Salon of Excellence 2016
The image "Satine" won the "People" category in the non-A grade digital section of the Salon of Excellence Qld awards and went on to be named the Champion non-A grade image.
The awards were announced at the Photographic Society of Queensland convention in Yeppoon in May 2016.

1st Place (Altered Reality), Brisbane Exhibition 2015
The image, "Fire in the Sky" took 1st place in the "Altered Reality" section of the Fine Arts (Photography) competition at the Royal Queensland Show (Brisbane Ekka) in 2015. At the time I was quite the novice using Photoshop. The win was a lovely encouragement for my creative journey.
