"Hidden Gems of Italy"
"Photography on the Green" showcased the work of five award-winning photographers with digital images projected on a giant outdoor screen at a Brisbane bowling club.
Images ranged from landscape and travel, to surf and underwater, and the concept of community, both urban and rural.
My contribution "Hidden Gems of Italy" captured Italy off the beaten track from farms, wilderness and ancient villages to unexpected takes on city life. The trip, in 2018, was my 5th to the country of my father's birth. The resulting 10-minute audiovisual was set to some classic Italian tunes reflecting themes around the loss of a carefree rural life and attachment to homeland.
This solo exhibition of prints celebrating the diversity of experience among members of the Older Women's Network of Queensland was held at the Brisbane Square LIbrary during Seniors Week 2017.
Funded by a grant from the Queensland Government, the project involved travel to Mackay, Gympie and throughout the Brisbane area to capture the women's spirit and stories.
